Designed with women in mind, Breitling dresses its legendary watch with cheerful pastel colours to create the Heritage ’57 Pastel Paradise capsule collection
It’s starting to feel like a summer of leisure with the Breitling Superocean Heritage ’57 Pastel Paradise capsule collection. This latest addition to the watchmaker’s iconic collection, it is a reinvention of the original Superocean, which was a nod to the rising popularity of seaside leisure during the 1950s and 60s.

“This modern-retro tribute to the original Superocean is an exciting addition to the Breitling family of ladies’ watches. Of course it’ll look great at work, but its fun-in-the-sun vibe might make you want to spend a weekend at the beach,” said Breitling CEO Georges Kern.
A quick glance is all it takes to notice the strong summery vibe of the collection, with happy colours such as summer white, aquamarine, mint green, and iced latte found on tone-on-tone dials, bezels, and straps.
Breitling introduces the Breitling Superocean Heritage ’57 Pastel Paradise. This take on Breitling’s 50s-inspired dive watch features a slightly smaller case, and sunny pastel dials with matching bezels and straps.
The stainless steel case of the Breitling Superocean Heritage ’57 Pastel Paradise measures 38mm across, compared to 42mm for the full-size version. For the palette of this Capsule Collection, Breitling found inspiration in the laid-back vibe of seaside leisure. The Breitling Superocean Heritage ’57 Pastel Paradise comes in either summer white, aquamarine, mint green, or iced latte colorways. Each comes with a matching ceramic bezel insert and Saffiano strap. The fifth and final version has a white dial and rainbow-colored hour markers for an added dose of funk. The Breitling Superocean Heritage ’57 Pastel Paradise is only available during the 2021 summer season.
The Breitling Superocean Heritage ’57 Pastel Paradise is powered by caliber 10, a COSC-certified self-winding movement with a power reserve of approximately 42 hours. They’re water-resistant up to 100 meters.
Ushering in the summer months in colorful fashion, Breitling has unveiled the new Superocean Heritage ’57 Pastel Paradise Capsule Collection. The series consists of five diver-style watches, all executed in bright, trendy pastel colorways and catering to a diverse and likely younger audience of watch buyers.
The collection follows on the heels of the original Superocean Heritage ’57 last year, and two subsequent updates to that line later in 2020, and indicates Breitling’s continuing devotion to vintage-inspired designs. The brightly colored models also recall the launch of the Premier Heritage Collection, also a pastel-heavy group of watches that made major waves, no pun intended, in the market for their thoughtful juxtaposition of the playful and the formal.
Each watch is 38 mm in diameter, in a 100-meter water-resistant steel case whose color options include white with white accents, white with rainbow accents, light blue, mint green, and beige. Each of the models come equipped on matching Saffiano leather straps, with folding clasps and a quick-change system, the colors of which complement the primary colors used on the bezel and dial.
The watches should appeal to both men and women, with their bold diver designs and diverse colors balanced by case dimensions that shouldn’t overpower anyone’s wrist regardless of size. That the collection is geared toward a fashion-minded client is further indicated by the inclusion of a minty, sage-like green, which is essentially the de facto color of the year for 2021. The relatively modest water resistance is another indicator, as most “serious” dive watches provide a minimum of 200 meters of water resistance.
Nonetheless, the Superocean Heritage does take its inspiration from a vintage predecessor from 1957 and, like that model, has a large, bi-directional convex bezel, a push/pull crown, and a distinctive dial configuration recognizable for the unique, layered look of its quarter-hour markers. These markers are possibly best showcased on the rainbow-accented version of the watch, with the varying colors popping on the white background they overlay. This isn’t actually the first time Bretling has used rainbow accents, either: the brand inauguarated the style last year in its Superocean Heritage ’57 Limited Edition for COVID-19 Charities.
Beating inside all the watches is the Breitling Caliber 10, a COSC-certified automatic movement, and the same caliber used in previous iterations of the Superocean Heritage ’57. The caliber uses a brand-finished ETA 2892-A2 as its base, amasses a 42-hour power reserve, and is protected behind a solid, screw-down caseback.
Each of the Breitling Superocean Heritage ’57 Pastel Paradise are available now, via Breitling and authorized retailers, with pricing starting at $4,630 for most colorways, the exception being the rainbow-accented model, which is marked slightly higher at $4,770.
